Congratulations! I am so honored that you are considering me as your photographer for this special time! Photography for me is about your story. It’s about real genuine moments together: smiles, laughter, love. It's about that feeling of anticipation as you prepare to meet your baby. It’s about how your husband looks at you and your cute baby bump. It’s about when your first child hugs and kisses your belly knowing they are getting a sibling. I feel so blessed to have the privilege to experience these little moments right alongside you and your family.
pricing $500
Maternity sessions include a 45-60 minute session, digital download from a beautiful online gallery, and rights to print on your own.
baby bundle $850
Combines a Mini Maternity + Newborn session! This Mini Maternity session will be a 30 minute session. More newborn session information can be found here.
the process
Contract and Deposit
We will decide on a date and time. Typically sessions will begin between an hour or two before sunset. Once details are decided, a signed contract and 50% retainer will be required to book your session. I will send you a contract and invoice via email. You can sign and pay online! After I receive these two things, your time and date will be reserved!
The Session
My favorite part! We will either meet in your home or at an outdoor location and go from there! Be prepared to have some fun because we'll likely be twirling, snuggling, walking and laughing.
Processing and Edits
I will go through your images from the session and select the best. The editing process takes 2-3 weeks. All photographs will be edited to photographer’s judgement. You will receive a mix of color and black and white images.
Delivery
You will receive a link to your online gallery where you can then download your photographs. This online gallery will be yours to share as well! Be sure to save these photographs in a safe place on your computer because I will only hold them for 1 year.
Products
If you decide to purchase any prints, cards, albums, or flash drives these will be completed and mailed to you after all final edits. This process could take 2-4 weeks depending on the product.
tips for your session
What to Wear
Compliment each other! You want to coordinate your outfits, but not necessarily match exactly. Pay attention not only to color but also look at patterns, textures, the flow of fabrics etc. Textured fabrics photograph really well! Smaller patterns are better and more flattering than larger patterns. If we are photographing in your home, this lends itself to a more cozy, relaxed clothing!
Ladies Maxi and tighter fitting dresses work great. Tighter fitting outfits tend to show off that cute bump best! I recommend going slightly heavier on the make up because it really makes your face pop in photographs! If you are going to have painted nails try and paint them that day or the day before your session - chipped nail polish can be distracting or just rock the natural nail look without any polish! Keep your hair as natural as possible! You want to look like yourself!
Fellas Be sure to shave your face before your session, unless your style is to rock that beard then I recommend giving yourself a trim! Shy away from wearing tank tops and opened toed shoes.
What to Avoid
Avoid clothes with characters, writing, large logos or super bright colors. Keep in mind, colors can reflect color! A bright coral colored shirt can reflect a coral hue onto your faces causing the coloring to be off. For this reason I recommend wearing more toned down or muted colors. This is especially good for in home sessions!
Accessories and Shoes
Keep it simple. Add in a bracelet, a fun bold ring, leather watch or a scarf! Bring a hat that can be added or taken out if you’d like! Accessories should be fun, but less is more. For shoes wear comfy, but nice looking shoes because we’ll likely be walking a bit! Wedges over heels! Avoid workout shoes. If it’s winter time, wear wool socks and some cute boots! Those toes will get cold! If you are inside and wearing socks make sure they match and are simple.
